YSE: Young Social Entreprenuership.
BS Eutin & ZBC Vordingborg September 2020-August 2022
The overall aim of the YSE project is for young people to get to know Europe as an economic and social unit and to identify with it sustainably. This project aims to prepare them for the challenges of Europe. Examples are poor mobility or high youth unemployment. The joint management of a school company and short internships should provide the participants with the necessary skills to take an active role in shaping and maintaining Europe.
Many mutual visits and close cooperation should arouse curiosity about the neighboring country and ultimately convey economic and social skills. Europe is strengthened as participants will be able to face the future challenges of cross-border trade. Mobility and the removal of language barriers will be a central focus of the project. The project participants should act as multipliers and transfer positive experience and attitudes to their friends, families and other residents of the region.
The methodological tool for achieving the project results is the establishment of a joint student company. The students agree on a common social action product that should be developed and implemented based on a division of labour. The encounter of actors is essential here. Foreign language learning or a tolerant and understanding approach to each other are necessary so that Europe can grow closer together and a common job market can emerge. This desired intercultural competence cannot be learned in isolation in the classroom. The innovative character of the project is the simulation of cross-border trade with a social aspect to business development and social entrepreneurship. All goals of the project can be achieved effectively and sustainably. In order to be able to offer the most modern and interesting project possible, the participating teachers want to work with current teaching methods (tandem learning, cooperative learning, interdisciplinary learning).
Our final product will be a website showing all the material produced by the students during the activities in their schools and during the meetings.
Our project will strengthen our European citizenship through intercultural cooperation. Pupils will acquire competencies necessary for possible mobilities abroad. Teachers will practise English, use ICT and develop activity-oriented teaching materials and methods. Our pupils will develop a more self-confident attitude towards their own chances of success in the future. While discussing practical issues with foreign peers, students will increase their sense of belonging to a shared citizenship, which includes significant differences (and thus the need of respect and tolerance), but also includes integrated standards concerning essential values and human rights. Students and teachers will meet, exchange, negotiate, and make compromises to avoid misunderstanding. They will become aware that we are all European citizens and should behave as such.
